3 Teens Charged with Murder for Derrion Albert Beating Death
Derrion Albert was killed in a fight on Thursday. 16 years old Derrion Albert was a student of Fenger High School. It was reported that he had a pressure to join a gang but he refused to join it. Due to refusal he was killed.
The police has already caught the 3 teens who beat Derrion to die. These three teens have been charged with first-degree murder, authorities said.
Silvonus Shannon, 19, Eugene Riley, 18, and Eric Carson, 16, have been charged as adults in Thursday’s death of Derrion Albert, 16, Andy Conklin, a spokesman for the Cook County state’s attorney, said Monday. Albert’s beating death with wooden boards is depicted in a video that has been circulating on the Internet, and police were using that video to gather evidence.
Chicago police said charges are pending against a fourth suspect and that they are looking for at least three more suspects, but would not discuss a possible motive for the attack.
Tandra Simonton, a spokeswoman for the Cook County prosecutor’s office. said Albert was a bystander and not part of either group. She said he was knocked unconscious when Carson struck him in the head with a board and the second person punched him in the face. Albert regained consciousness and was trying to get up when he was attacked a second time by five people and was struck in the head with a board by Riley and stomped in the head by Shannon, Simonton said.
