Dave Checketts join up in bid for Rams
Conservative talk KMOX radio host Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday he is teaming up with St. Louis Blues owner Dave Checketts in a bid to buy the Rams, owners of the NFL’s longest losing streak at 14 and just 5-31 since 2007.
In a statement to KMOX, Limbaugh confirms the bid but would not name additional partners.
“Dave and I are part of a bid to buy the Rams and we are continuing the process,” Limbaugh’s statement read. “But I can say no more because of a confidentiality clause in our agreement with Goldman Sachs. We cannot and will not talk about our partners. But if we prevail, we will be the operators of the team.”
Georgia Frontiere moved the Rams from Los Angeles to St. Louis in 1995. She died in January 2008 and her two children are now majority owners.
