canon t2i announced
Posted by: | CommentsAs the new flagship in Canon’s Digital Rebel line, the Canon EOS Rebel T2i complements the Canon EOS Rebel XS and the Canon EOS Rebel T1i.
The existing Canon Rebel XSi will be retired to make room for the new model, which has a variety of new features that will appeal to photo enthusiasts already using a digital SLR, and to those looking to move from a point-and-shoot digicam to a more advanced model that will enable greater creativity.
What’s notable here is that Canon has taken features from its recent Canon EOS 7D — an $1800 model-and brought those features downstream to a model half that price. The Rebel T2i uses the same 18 megapixel sensor as the 7D, but its channel reader is lower (four-channel for T2i, versus eight for 7D). Both models use the Digic 4 engine, and both have a 63 zone, dual-layer metering system. However, the T2i makes some concessions — it can shoot at 3.7 frames per second, with a burst rate of 34 large fine jpegs, and 6 RAW images; and it has a 9-point autofocus system that’s on a par with the T1i (the 7D, by contrast, has 19 focus points).
ISO handling is similar to the 7D: It supports ISO 100-6400, and you can expand that to 12,800 in the settings.
The T2i comes in a similarly designed, fairly compact chassis, much like the T1i in weight and size. The T2i uses a new, slightly smaller but more efficient battery to handle movie mode and improve battery life over the T1i. Canon says the battery should last for 550 shots, 50 more than on the T1i.
Video has very quickly become a must-have feature on the SLR circuit. And one of the other big improvements here is to video handling: Video resolution has been amped up to be more l like the 7D, with up to 1080p at 24, 25, and 30fps (you can capture up to 12 minutes at a time at 1080p, 24 minutes in standard definition). You also get manual exposure capability in video, and there’s a jack for an external microphone-handy for amplifying audio during your recordings. A new movie crop mode uses central portion of the sensor, and magnifies view seven times if you’re capturing video in standard definition. Also new: a dedicated movie/live view on/off switch, as found on the 7D.
The T2i supports SDHC and SDXC memory card formats, for up to 64GB of storage per card. It’s the first SLR with SDXC support; Canon was first to announce an SDXC-capable camcorder, the HF S21, in January as well (that model will ship in April, just after the T2i’s expected late-March availability).
One other new and interesting development is HDMI-CEC support. By supporting this HDMI feature, Canon underscores its expectation that consumers will attach the camera to an HDTV to view images directly from a card. HDMI-CEC lets an HDTV remote control the camera’s playback features.
At $899 (in a kit with an 18-55mm IS EF-S lens; $799 body only), the T2i carries an attractive price that positions this model well against the competition — and opens up new avenues to creativity for SLR shooters.

Plastic Logic Unwraps Que E-Reader For Mobile Pros
Posted by: | CommentsPlastic Logic on Thursday unveiled its long-awaited Que electronic reader, announcing that the competitor to Amazon’s Kindle DX will be available in mid-April.
Geared toward business professionals, the Que has a 10.7-inch diagonal display, one inch larger than the Kindle DX, and can display documents in Adobe PDF and Microsoft Office formats. The DX can’t do the latter, but Plastic Logic is charging considerably more for its device.
The Que will cost $649 for 4 GB of storage and support for Wi-Fi only. For $799, a buyer will also get access to AT&T’s 3G broadband network to download books, magazines, and newspapers from the online Que Store. Amazon sells the Kindle DX for $489, including 4 GB of storage and a 3G connection to buy content from the online retailer. There’s no Wi-Fi support.
Plastic Logic debuted the product at the International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas. The company has been talking to the media about the Que for months.
Plastic Logic is hoping professionals will be willing to pay the higher price to get a device that can access most of their documents while on the road. The larger screen will make it easier to read diagrams and other business-related graphics, as well as text. To emphasize its focus with the Que, Plastic Logic is calling the device a “proReader,” rather than an e-reader.
“The Que proReader was built from the ground up for people who need to read,” Richard Archuleta, chief executive of Plastic Logic, said in a statement. “Starting today, mobile professionals can look forward to a paperless briefcase, a lighter load, and a better way to work.”

Posted by: | CommentsDell released its tiny gaming PC, the Alienware M11x.
Dell released its mini-gamer, the Alienware M11x, which features an 11.1″ 720p display complete with both NVIDIA GT335M and integrated graphics. According to Dell, the M11x “demonstrates the graphics power of a 15-inch laptop in an 11-inch form factor.” And we believe it, considering the netbook-sized ultraportable managed 6,000 to 7,000 scores in 3DMark, which adds up to 50fps performance in Crysis and 30fps in Call of Duty at the highest settings.
Dell representatives say the M11x should achieve over six hours of battery life in its lower-graphics function mode and attain around two hours of intense gaming time in its other mode. The M11x also comes with DisplayPort, HDMI, and VGA ports so you can take your gaming to the big screen and connect to larger monitors and HDTVs.
The M11x will sell for under $1,000 and right now we’re trying to snag some more details and photos for you, so stay tuned for updates.

facebook will automatically index all your info on google
Posted by: | CommentsFacebook will automatically index all your info on google. If you’ve logged into Facebook recently, you’ve likely been notified of Facebook’s new privacy changes. One of the new challenges facing Facebook is the site’s plan indexing information on Google and other search engines. What does Facebook indexing mean to you? It could mean that your personal information on the site could appear on search engines such as Google and Bing.
There is no doubt that people have become more and more open to the Internet. They are sharing their personal interests and communicating with their friends in an open platform. Facebook have certainly been the catalyst in this cultural change. May be we are seeing the different sides of humanity. May be what we pre-assumed to be a ‘privacy threat’ is not really the matter of concern to the development of personal creativity. Google and Facebook have created a platform that have helped people to express and be confident about themselves and in way have helped them to be more creative.
So what can you do to stop Facebook from indexing? Here are some brief instructions:
If you don’t want search engines like Google and Bing to index your profile, do yourself a favor and make sure those settings are still set the way you want them to be. To adjust your search privacy settings click on Settings>Privacy Settings>Search. If the “Allow indexing” box is checked then search engines will be able to index your information.

google real time search
Posted by: | Comments“Google Real Time search is Google’s relevance technology meeting the real-time web,” said Google Fellow Amit Singhal.
So aside from real-time search, Google is also embarking on a more ambitious and yet a possibly useful feature, this time for its mobile search service. These new features will allow you to do mobile search by voice, location maps and visual imagery.

Mobile Search by Voice – This mobile search was introduced last year, and after a successful run, Google is now making this feature available in several new languages including – Japanese, joining English and Mandarin. In the long-run, Google hopes to combine voice recognition-powered search with Google’s translation service.
Mobile Search by Location – What’s Nearby feature is being rolled out for Google Maps running on Adroid 1.6 devices. This feature gives you a list of the ten closes places to your current location. This feature basically answers the perennial question “What’s around here, anyway?”
Mobile Search by Visual Images aka Google Goggles – Now it the most ambitious feature among the three new features of Google mobile search. Supporting again Android 1.6 devices, Google Goggles lets you search for objects using images rather than words. So, you just need to take a photo of any object you encounter in real-life and if Google recognizes it will return relevant search results. Google Goggles currently supports landmarks, works of arts and products.
These new features are pretty exciting indeed. If only they will be made available for other devices such as the iPhone. Or perhaps, these could be good reasons to get an Android phone now.
bushnell onix 400 gps with xm nexrad weather
Posted by: | Comments“Bushnell ONIX 400 GPS with XM NEXRAD Weather” for the astonishing is $100. This is the same kind of technology that’s used by most stormchasers in their vehicles, only on a much smaller scale – and of course, instead of taking the data from your own radar, it’s just pulled alongside the GPS data.
The device also has a 3.5″ display working on a 320×200 resolution, satellite imaging, an SD card slot – and it comes with a 128 MB card. The battery holds on for about 30 hours, and the device is waterproof as well.

zhu zhu pets cyber monday
Posted by: | CommentsZhu Zhu, the electronic pet hamster, was flying off shelves at Toys R Us and emerged as the frontrunner for this year’s must-have toy. Zhu Zhu Pets proved popular on Black Friday once Toys R Us got a new batch of stock in and demand will be heavy again today, Cyber Monday. We have just learned that the new 2010 Zhu Zhu Pets are now on sale, with four new hamsters to choose from.
According to I4U, these new pets were meant to be available in the New Year, but you can pre-order them from eBay and Amazon 3r Parties. We advise you to be careful when ordering them. There are four new hamsters, Jilly, Winkie, Scuddles and Nugget.
Amazon have put this disclaimer on their site, “Proceed with caution in case you want to get the new Jilly, Winkie, Scuddles or Nugget Zhu Zhu hamster for Christmas.” We just hope that parents do not feel too pressured into ordering one of these before they have looked further into it.
The price of the Zhu Zhu pets should only be $10, but Amazon are now selling them for $60, seems as if they are not getting into the Christmas spirit of things.
