Detroit Lions beat the Washington Redskins 19-14 today at Ford Field, Detroit, ending a losing skid that was tied for the second-longest in NFL history. Detroit’s last win had come on Dec. 23, 2007 and the Lions last season became the first NFL team to have a record of 0-16.

“Well, there’s not many words to say yet,” Redskins Coach Jim Zorn said. “We did not treat this team lightly. We knew this team was good. They came in and got out ahead, but we certainly were not out of the game. Again, it’s about us taking care of details. . . . I believe that’ll be the difference once we look at it” on video.
